The Story & Design Inspiration Behind KUKEY Eyewear Pendant
Every summer, countless people struggle with the same small annoyance: loose sunglasses slipping off shirts, lost reading glasses during walks, and awkwardly carrying smart AI glasses at work. Ordinary glasses chains are either cheap-looking plastic or bulky, ugly metal straps that ruin your outfit—there was no elegant, high-end solution that balances daily practicality and fashion. That’s where the inspiration for KUKEY was born.
Our design team set out to create an entirely new category of wearable accessory, one that turns your eyewear into a sophisticated necklace rather than a clumsy utility tool. We spent over a year refining every structural detail: a bidirectional 90° opening lock for easy loading of eyeglass arms, a sliding silicone stopper to hold frames securely, and an adjustable silicone loop to customize chain length for all body types. We limited the maximum compatible temple width to 0.9 inches to guarantee a snug, stable fit for nearly all sunglasses, reading glasses and lightweight smart eyewear.
We refused to cut corners on material and finish. We adopted 316 hypoallergenic stainless steel paired with food-grade soft silicone, safe for long-term skin contact. All metal surfaces receive watch-level mirror polishing, while our gold variant features genuine 18K electroplating to deliver lasting luxury without quick fading.
